Discover Our Brewery Manners Classes
These classes are designed to help dog owners enjoy brewery outings, emphasizing the importance of social etiquette for dogs in public spaces, ensuring a harmonious environment for everyone.
Participants will learn skills and techniques to manage their dogs effectively, fostering positive interactions with other patrons and staff. Our goal is to create a community of responsible dog owners who can confidently enjoy brewery visits with their well-behaved companion.
These classes are not appropriate for dogs who growl, excessively bark and/or lunge at other dogs/people. Your dog should already have basic manners and obedience skills.
Here is a sampling of skills covered in these classes:
* Remaining calm around people and other dogs
* Staying on a mat
* Calmly walking around people and dogs
* Calmly walking up to a counter to order
* Leave things that are on the floor
* Quick recovery and tolerance to sudden loud noises
Brewery Manners Class Packages
Brewery Manners Sampler Class
- One hour class introducing skills needed for sucessful brewery, cafe, or restaurant outings:
- WHERE: Boothbay Craft Brewery, 301 Adams Pond Road, Boothbay
- WHEN: Select Wednesdays @ 4PM
- Note: This class is not appropriate for dogs who growl, bark and lunge at other dogs/people. To take this class, your dog should already have basic manners and obedience skills.
- Pre-registration is strongly recommended
Drink With Your Dog (R) Brewery Manners Level 1
- This four week course teaches essential skills so your dog can be a well-behaved guest at dog friendly breweries, cafes, and restaurants.
- At the successful completion of the course, your dog will earn a Certified Brewery Friendly Dog title through the Drink With Your Dog (R) program.
- WHERE: Boothbay Craft Brewery, 301 Adams Pond Road, Boothbay
- WHEN: Select Wednesdays @ 5:15PM
- Note: This class is not appropriate for dogs who growl, bark and lunge at other dogs/people. To take this class, your dog should already have basic manners and obedience skills.
- Pre-registration is required
Drink With Your Dog (R) Brewery Manners Level 2+
- This class continues to work on the essential skills so your dog can be a well-behaved guest at dog friendly breweries, cafes, and restaurants. Teams can earn higher level titles (up to Level 3) at their own pace.
- After successful completion of each level, your dog will earn a Certified Brewery-Friendly Dog title through the Drink With Your Dog (R) program. Skills covered are the same as Level 1 but with increased distraction and duration.
- WHERE: Bath Ale Works, 681 Bath Rd, Wiscasset
- WHEN: Select Thursdays @ 5:30 PM
- Note: This class is not appropriate for dogs who growl, bark and lunge at other dogs/people. To take this class, your dog should already have basic manners and obedience skills.

Our brewery manners classes are designed to help dog owners enjoy social settings with their pets. Below are some common inquiries we receive.
How many dogs are in each class?
To ensure personalized attention, we limit our classes to a maximum of 6 dogs per session.
What should I bring to class?
Please bring your dog’s favorite treats, a leash, and any necessary paperwork. You will receive an email upon enrollment with more information.
Are there any prerequisites for this class?
Yes, your dog should have completed basic training or have equivalent training experience to enroll. Brewery classes are not appropriate for aggressive or reactive dogs. If you are uncertain if this pertains to your dog, please contact us at healcove207@gmail.com
What is your cancellation policy?
Classes that are held in Boothbay are outside and weather dependent. Weather cancellations will be sent if necessary and the class will be made up. We offer a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the first class. After that, a partial refund is available.
